BSkyB logs online TV package

U.K. company to offer users cable, on-demand

LONDON — U.K. satcaster BSkyB will offer a standalone pay TV package to online users for the first time.

BSkyB’s pay TV channels and video-on-demand service were previously available only as part of its satellite and cable packages. Now customers will be able to purchase a separate online-only package. It will launch on the Sky Player platform in the next few months, BSkyB chief operating officer Mike Darcey said Monday in a speech at a Guardian media conference in London.
