Online competition to be featured on both sites
Absolut Vodka will sponsor IFC’s new Saturday evening double-feature series “Absolut Indies,” as well as the Absolut Indies Short Film Challenge, an online competish that will feed content to both companies’ websites and the cable net.
“Absolut Indies” will air films including “Gosford Park,” “Boogie Nights,” and “American Splendor.” The net will run a 45-second intro at the beginning of “Absolut Indies” that highlights the sponsor.
The Short Film Challenge asks aspiring helmers to direct shorts using the prompt “In an Absolut world” — also the title of the vodka’s advertising campaign. Winners will be broadcast between the intro and the first film in the double feature during “Absolut Indies.”
