Animation festival set for Big Sight
The Tokyo Intl. Anime Fair, the world’s biggest toon event, will run March 27-30 at the Tokyo Big Sight event space.
The fair will be open to business visitors only for the first two days and will open to the public for the last two.
The seventh edition of the fair, which attracts sellers and buyers of TV and theatrical toons, will feature sales booths, symposiums, stage shows and other events.
Last year the fair featured 270 companies, including 55 foreign, and a four-day attendance of 107,713, for an 8.8% year-on gain.
The grand prize in the Anime Award Competition will be handed out during the event. Competish was won last year by the Mamoru Hosoda fantasy “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.”
