Actors of Diesel’s stature do voiceover work for games all the time, but it’s a rarity to see such a star producing his own titles.
Diesel’s first game, 2004’s “Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay,” is widely viewed as one of the best movie-based games ever. This year, his game production company Tigon will follow it up with “Wheelman,” an early-development driving title Midway altered to integrate Diesel into as the star (he did two major voiceover sessions and provided hundreds of reference images).
“Vin understands games from a deeper level because he plays them, so he knows how to give feedback that we can work with,” says Shaun Himmerick of Midway Studios Newcastle, who exec produced the project. And if Par’s movie spinoff ever gets out of development, Diesel would be first in line to star.
