Seamus Blackley

The former physicist and top-selling game designer piloted the creation of the Xbox platform at Microsoft, and now heads CAA’s videogame department, which reps such high-profile clients as Cory Barlog, thatgamecompany, Tim Schafer, American McGee, Warren Spector and Harmonix.

Being a game designer himself definitely helps in spotting and representing talent, Blackley says. “We make deals to build new games as well as building new types of business around those games.”

Blackley’s recent deals include creating a game division at Jerry Bruckheimer’s company, setting up a partnership between Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller and vidgame developer Barlog, orchestrating a deal for Schafer to design “Brutal Legend” and closing deals with Sony and thatgamecompany’s Kellee Santiago and Jenova Chen for their next two games.
