Jerry Bruckheimer

The prolific producer behind the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “CSI” franchises has moved beyond the standard-issue videogame versions of his products. Bruckheimer says he was “hands-on” during the development of Disney’s “Pirates Online,” a multiplayer world for would-be swashbucklers.

More significantly, he’s in the first year of a long-term agreement with MTV Games to create original properties. The two parties launched a game-incubation studio with the goal of developing new properties that could possibly migrate to film and TV.

Bruckheimer is also working old school, reinventing Ubisoft’s “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” as a 2009 summer tentpole. “The game has a strong story, great visuals and a devoted fanbase, which made it natural to adapt into a movie,” he says.
