Moledina believes being an information junkie prepared him to take on the role of executive director of the Game Developers Conference.
“We’re constantly looking for what’s next, so I’m always reading and talking to people so we can have the latest trends featured at the GDC,” Moledina says. As a former editor-in-chief of Game Developer Magazine, Moledina knew the key players when he came to the confab four years ago.
Since Moledina took the lead, GDC has grown rapidly, continuing to bring together developers while also picking up much of the deal-making slack left by the downsized E3. “The GDC should be a place where people can come to be inspired and enriched by what other designers and people in the gaming industry are doing,” Moledina says. “Then we’re serving our purpose.”
