LONDON — New distrib Delanic Films has struck a three-year deal for Anchor Bay Entertainment U.K. to handle the DVD release of its movies.
Delanic was launched last year by former Columbia Tristar staffer Joe Simpson and advertising exec Glynn Allanson. Its upcoming pics include Peter Howitt’s “Dangerous Parking,” the Anne Hathaway vehicle “Passengers” and “Hachiko: A Dog’s Story,” starring Richard Gere.
The first Delanic title to go out via Anchor Bay on DVD is “Freebird,” a Welsh comedy that was released theatrically Feb. 1. Anchor Bay is a division of U.S. media group Starz.
“This is a significant point in the evolution of our company,” Simpson commented. “In one deal, we have not only aligned ourselves with a global media powerhouse as a strategic partner, but also accessed a fantastic home entertainment distribution team.”
