Shepard Fairey is responsible for the most iconic image of Barack Obama this election cycle — a poster recycled and parodied and ripped off. Ever since January, when that image was first introduced, he has been engaged in a campaign to bring artists into the effort, and the latest is a "Video Postcard Contest," where people are being encouraged to send in their own videos via YouTube that capture the spirit of fine art propaganda.

For good measure, a series of video postcards, featuring stars and other artists, were made, under the direction of Fairey and Melissa Balin. The spots take the whole phenomenon of video endorsements to a new level. Here are ones from John C. Reilly and Flea.

Meanwhile, one of the animators from "The Simpsons," Lucas Gray, has produced this video, comparing the McCain and Obama economic plans.

Robert Redford campaigned for Mark Udall and for Obama’s get out the vote efforts in Colorado today, and talked to local affiliate KUSA-TV.
