Resort records 13 million visitors for 2008

TOKYO — Tokyo Disney Resort recorded 13 million in admissions for the first half of fiscal 2008 — a company record, park operator Oriental Land said. The April-September total represented a 7.2%  or 877,000- admission increase over the same period the previous year. The previous first-half record was 12.3 million, set in 2003.

Oriental Land attributed the gain partly to a parade commemorating the 25th anni of Tokyo Disneyland. The company forecasts fiscal 2008 admissions will total 26.5 million — besting the previous record of 25.8 million set in 2006.
