Tokyo center for start-ups opens

TCIC to supply office space, info, support

TOKYO — The Tokyo city government is opening the Tokyo Contents Innovation Center on Aug 1 to support start-ups in the toon, pic, game and other creative fields.

TCIC will supply reasonably priced office space plus biz info and networking support. It will also sponsor seminars open to all, not only TCIC occupants.

The city government already supports creative businesses through a variety of initiatives, including the annual Tokyo Intl. Anime Fair, but TCIC is the first physical facility it has established.

Located in Tokyo’s Nakano Ward, near the center of the city’s thriving toon production base, TCIC will offer 25 offices and three conference rooms, with a total area of 16,267 square feet. TCIC will be taking application for occupants from July 3 to 18.
