Studio appoints directors Acosta and Garcia
MADRID — Sony Pictures Television Intl. has expanded its production structure in Spain, tapping Spanish execs Mireia Acosta and Susana Garcia as directors of scripted and entertainment production, respectively.
Both will report to Alfredo Ereno, VP of Sony Pictures TV Prods. Espana. Both are based in Madrid.
A former fiction director at Spanish shingle Videomedia, Acosta will lead the development of Sony’s scripted productions in the Spanish market. Acosta’s credits include Spanish web Telecinco’s primetime hit drama “Hospital Central.”
Garcia is responsible for identifying and acquiring international entertainment formats and overseeing their adaptation in Spain. As the former director of entertainment at BocaBoca Prods., Garcia exec produced successful gameshow “Pasapalabra.”
