RCN to carry STAR TV channels

Five U.S. cities to get Hindi service

HONG KONG — RCN Corp., a Virginia-based digital TV platform, has struck a deal to carry three of STAR TV’s Indian channels in major East Coast, U.S. metro areas.

Company will carry Hindi-language channels STAR India Plus, STAR India Gold and STAR One for digital subscribers in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Chicago.

“The addition of these three top Indian entertainment channels is only the first step in RCN’s robust expansion of international programming,” Richard Ramlall, RCN’s senior VP, strategic external affairs and programming, said.
