Julie Andrews and daughter Emma Walton Hamilton top the New York Times’ Picture Books list with “Thanks to You” (Harper Collins).
The book was to be a Mother’s Day selection but hit the stalls earlier and quickly captured the market — thanks, of course to the loving appearances of both. And since Julie was also doing duty for “Shrek III.” Julie also has an April release date, 2008 from Hyperion for her autobiog — which will cover her arrival in this world to her arrival in L.A. to start “Mary Poppins” in ’63.
Wait a minute — she’s also readying two plays — to direct– at Emma’s Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. The are: “Simeon’s Gift” and “The Great American Mousical.” She’ll direct-only, as she did with “The Boy Friend.” How about on-camera acting again? She’s reading scripts, I’m assured. That’s good news.
