Food Network has signed comic Zane Lamprey to star in “Have Fork. Will Travel,” a half-hour primetime series that kicks off next month.
Lamprey will circle the globe as a food-loving American eager to sample exotic foods and focus on the natives who prepare them. He’ll “inject his trademark humor into his discovery of foreign culture,” said Bob Tuschman, senior VP of programming and production for Food.
Lamprey travels to France, Russia, Thailand, Norway, Brazil, Jamaica and Puerto Rico for the skein.
Food averaged 904,000 primetime viewers in July, up 11% increase over a year earlier. A solid 50% of the network’s viewers reside in its target demo of adults 25-54.
