Viacom plans MTV push in Japan

Company pacts with Septeni to promote brand

TOKYO — Viacom Intl. Japan, a wholly owned subsid of MTV Networks, and Internet marketer Septeni Holdings have inked a partnership agreement to promote the MTV brand in Japan.

VIJ will develop free mobile media and build Web sites, as well as create and transmit content and manage and support site users. Meanwhile, Septeni will conduct marketing and promotion activities, including advertising and sub recruitment.

Companies plan to use their mutual strengths to boost the presence of the MTV brand on free mobile and other digital media in Japan.

VIJ’s main business is the development and management of interactive entertainment in Japan. In 2005 VIJ and MTV Networks launched Flix, a MySpace-like interactive site.

Septeni Holdings is a leader in the Internet and mobile media marketing and promotion biz in Japan.
