Gay-themed programming from the Here cable network becomes available by monthly subscription to digital customers of Time Warner Cable of Southern California on July 1.
Some TW subscribers currently get Here on pay-per-view, but Paul Colichman, founder and CEO of the net, said his business plan favors the steady revenue stream of subscriptions over the catch-as-catch-can uncertainty of PPV. The fee to TW subscribers is $7.95 a month.
The lineup of programs in Here’s menu leans heavily toward original movies and series.
Time Warner and Here will promote the launch of the service during the gay-pride parade in West Hollywood this weekend.
Here is based in Los Angeles. TW’s systems serve 1.9 million subscribers in the five counties of Southern California.
