TV movie award rides with ‘Devil’

Munich festival honors Huntgeburth's mini

MUNICH — Helmer Hermine Huntgeburth’s two-part TV mini “Teufelsbraten” (Cheeky Devil) has won the TV movie award given by German producers’ org VFF at the Munich Film Festival.

Pic stars Ulrich Noethen and Corinna Harfouch and is about a smart country kid in the 1950s who strives to get an education.

Huntgeburth helmed “The White Massai,” one of the major domestic box office hits in 2005.

Separately, the fest’s documentary-in-progress award given by pubcaster-producer Bayerischer Rundfunk and export org Telepool went to Ralf Buecheler, Erik Winker and Jens Wenkel. They will receive production aid for projects that were selected on the basis of their scripts.
