Outfit targets German markets
COLOGNE — Herbert Kloiber’s Tele Muenchen Gruppe has joined up with On Demand Group to launch pay-per-view platforms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Joint venture On Demand Deutschland, which will be headquartered in Munich, will tap the 45 million households in the three German-language markets.
The joint venture will offer cable providers packages of Hollywood and German content, licensed through TMG.
U.K. pay-per-view operator ODG, which was set up in 1998, has an annual revenue of £115 million ($224 million). It is a subsidiary of Massachusetts-based SeaChange Intl.
In separate news, RTL TV has an-nounced that three of its pay-TV channels have been made available to digital cable in Switzerland.
RTL Crime, Passion and RTL Living have been licensed to the largest Swiss cable TV operator, Cablecom, which serves 1.5 million households.
