TBS teams with Mitsui & Co.

Duo to launch digital media business

TOKYO — The TBS network has joined with the Mitsui & Co. trading house to launch a company to manage the web’s digital media businesses, the partners announced Monday.

Called TBS Diginet, the company was originally TM Mobile, a joint venture between TBS and Mitsui.

The new company is capitalized at 498 million yen ($4.05 million), with TBS putting up 60% and Mitsui 40% of the coin.

Outfitted with a new name and new status as stock company, TBS Diginet will engage in a variety of Internet-related activi-ties, including the management of community and promotional sites for TBS shows. It will also manage and develop content for TBS BooBo Box, a TBS video-on-demand site that users can access via PCs and mobile devices.
