BERLIN — RTL Television has inked an output deal with international distrib Telepool.
The long-term agreement includes international rights to all new RTL productions, including hit series such as legal eagle skein “Die Anwaelte,” autobahn actioner “Alarm for Cobra 11” and local “Law & Order” clone “Im Namen des Gesetzes,” as well as upcoming event movies such as “Prager Botschaft,” which chronicles the events that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 as hundreds of East Germans stormed the West German embassy in Prague.
“The cooperation with RTL ideally complements our programming catalog,” said Telepool topper Thomas Weymar.
Unlike rival ProSiebenSat 1’s SevenOne Intl., RTL has no in-house international sales arm of its own, although parent RTL Group does own the production and international distri-bution company FremantleMedia.
Telepool is a subsidiary of pubcaster ARD and Swiss pubcaster SRG SSR and handles international sales product from its shareholders as well as third parties such as RTL and Senator Entertainment.
