A&E show nabs record audience

A&E delivered an other-worldly 2.5 million total viewers for the premiere of its reality series “Paranormal State” on Monday night, the most-watched kickoff of an original series on the network in more than three years.

Bob DeBitetto cq, executive VP and general manager of A&E, said what’s even more significant is that 1.6-million people 18 to 49 watched the two back-to-back half-hour episodes of “Paranormal.” And 1.5-million P 25-54, A&E’s demographic target, also tuned in.

The lead-in show Monday, “Intervention,” harvested 2.4-million viewers, making it the most-watched episode in the four-year history of the series.
