Austrian broadcaster signs five-year pact
BERLIN — Austrian pubcaster ORF has inked a five-year deal for exclusive free TV rights to EM.Entertainment’s animated series “Staines Down Drains” and “F.T.P.D. — Fairytale Police Department.”Co-produced by EM.Entertainment’s Australian subsidiary Flying Bark Prods. and New Zealand’s Flux Animation, “Staines Down Drains” follows the adventures of a brother and sister who discover an underground drain world populated by mutated drain creatures. Series is aimed at tykes aged six to 11. In “F.T.P.D.,” local detectives help solve crimes involving famous fairytale characters, such as the kidnapping of Pinocchio, shoddy construction on the three pigs’ houses and the disappearance of the Frog Prince. The series was co-produced by EM.TV (now known as EM.Sport Media), Australian subsidiary Yoram Gross-EM.TV (now known as Flying Bark) and Germany’s Victory Media Group. EM.Entertainment, a division of EM.Sport Media, is currently on the block. EM.Sport is focusing on sports rights and production and divesting itself of the family entertainment unit.
