Maury Povich has hired his first correspondent.
New York radio personality Egypt won’t be going to Iraq, exactly, but she will host a number of exposes, according to “Maury” exec producer Paul Faulhaber.
“For instance, we’re doing an expose on the lives of male exotic dancers, and that’s a great interview for her to do, because she’s coming from a female perspective,” said Faulhaber. “She’s really hitting the bull’s-eye for our key demographic.”
“Maury” enters its 10th season this week with Egypt on deck.
Explaining why the show is expanding now, Faulhaber said, “We would have Egypt on our caught-on-tape shows, and then it progressed. We would do ‘How to Catch a Cheating Man,’ and I just noticed that the chemistry with Maury and Egypt was really great on set. They really hit it off.”
Egypt reports for BET’s “The Black Carpet” and co-hosts Power 105.1 FM’s morning show.
