Congrats to all the Humanitas winners…

Gelbarthumanitas_2and congrats to Warner Bros. Television for fielding the smallscreen winners in both the 60-minute (“ER”) and 30-minute (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”) categories. Duty called in the office today or I would have attended the luncheon instead of staying back at the Wilshire Boulevard ranch and writing up the winners from the press release (not nearly the same as being there). Soon as I can find some pics from the event and get a download or two from folks who were there, I’ll put something up. If anyone who did attend wants to weigh in, why, that’s what the ‘Comments’ section of this space was made for…

(Wednesday update: OK, so today was busier than I thought and didn’t have a chance to really update this. But thanks to Berliner Studios/BEImages for the Larry Gelbart pic at left.)

    Thank God For Brian Lowry
Oh Brian, thank God there is someone to always perfectly analyze a television situation, or any situation at all. I mean it. I sat here on vacation out of the country trying to enjoy my vacation with CNN on in the background at some outdoor pool bar. I watched in horror as CNN then analyzed the Larry King/Paris Hilton interview afterwards. Has the news media completely lost their minds!!?! Seriously, what is going on? I thought Anderson Cooper had some kind of dignity. I am sure it was some producer telling him he must do this and not on his on whim.
I’ve met Paris Hilton, I’ve had a drink with her here and there, she is one of THE MOST uninteresting people I have ever met. I do not understand this craziness about her. She’s not even worth a second look and if one saw her at a party, turn the other way because it’s going to be a short, very boring conversation.
It’s as if the country is looking to be distracted and it’s somewhat daunting how far the U.S. media has fallen and let us down. There are real issues going on out there. The rest of the world must thing we’re even more insane now then ever. And I thought it was just Hollywood, well no more.
And yes, I still read Variety while on vacation.
I say again, Thank God for Brian Lowry.
