CME takes ‘Kids’ into six markets

Company signs first multi-territory pact

PRAGUE — Booming terrestrial web Central European Media Enterprises has made its first multi-territory acquisition with the purchase of gameshow format “Kids Are All Right” from Endemol-owned Initial.

The quizshow, in which adults compete with kids, has been picked up for all six of CME’s markets: Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Ukraine.

“The show addresses the audience’s need for all round family entertainment,” said Maria Rakhmatullina, manager for regional projects development.

CME is also localizing original programming for its territories, such as with soapers like Latin America-style revenge series “Tears of Love,” the gynecology clinic-based “Rose Garden Surgery” and mass housing sitcom “Neighbors Forever.”
