Ion Television has inked a deal to be the exclusive nationwide network to carry original BodogTV programs.
The shows will include “BodogFight” and “Calvin Ayre Wildcard Poker,” programs in the popular categories of mixed martial arts and celebrity reality contests.
Beginning Feb. 13, Ion Television will run original episodes of “BodogFight: St. Petersburg” Tuesdays and Saturdays. The series will lead up to a special event in Russia later this spring, featuring some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts.
To celebrate the TV launch, Ion Television will air a “free-per-view” broadcast premiere special of “BodogFight: USA vs. Russia” Feb. 17.
Bodog and Ion Television will collaborate on advertising sales, as well as marketing and promotion for the programming.
Depending on how the new programming is received, the companies may explore expanding development, and possibly launch additional content targeting young latenight audiences.
Ion Media Networks owns and operates Ion Television, which reaches more than 90 million U.S. television households via its nationwide broadcast television, cable and satellite distribution systems. The net carries TV series and movies from the Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Television, CBS Television and NBC Universal libraries.
BodogTV features the shows “BodogFight” (a mixed martial arts show), “Bodog Battle of the Bands” (a contest for a million-dollar recording contract) and “Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker,” a poker lifestyle reality show.
