BBC packages 40 hours to New Zealand

LONDON — BBC Worldwide has sold a significant package of more than 40 hours of drama, natural history and factual fare to Antipodean broadcaster TVNZ.

The programs include “Doctor Who” spinoff “Torchwood,” ITV event drama “Primeval” and wildlife skein “Galapagos.”

“There is a huge demand for quality British content in New Zealand,” says Melanie Owen, BBC Worldwide’s sales manager, New Zealand.
