LONDON — Another topper has quit MTV Networks Europe — this time to join fledgling U.K. broadband TV service, BT Vision.
Michael Barry, managing director of MTV U.K. & Ireland, will join BT Vision in April as director of programming reporting to commercial director Marc Watson.
Barry, formerly worldwide creative director at Universal Studios Networks, said: “Building a next-generation entertainment service presents some really interesting and new creative opportunities and challenges.”
His decision to quit MTV follows the recent departure of new media topper, Angel Gambino, who left without a job to go to.
Last month MTV Networks Europe’s veteran president and CEO, Simon Guild, announced he was ankling saying it was a “logical time to move on to new challenges.”
He has worked for the outfit for 14 years.
