ABC Family original series “Kyle XY” harvested 2.2 million viewers in its second-season premiere Monday night at 8, matching the show’s viewer average for the 10-episode first season and beating the average by double digits in adults 18-34 and women 18-49.
Last week, ABC Family commissioned 10 more episodes to expand the second-season total to 23 hours.
“Kyle XY,” about an otherworldly teenager (played by Matt Dallas) who’s brilliant but somewhat emotionless, is ABC Family’s highest-rated original scripted series. It’s from BenderSpink and Touchstone TV.
