Asian TV awards widen net

Kudos considering shows from Australia, New Zealand

Topper of state org the New South Wales Film and TV Office, Tania Chambers, has been asked to join the board of trustees for the Asian Television kudos held in Singapore in November.

Move reflects the fact that the kudos will, for the first time, consider programs from Australia and New Zealand; kudos were started in 1996 and received more than 1400 entries last year in 29 categories.

“The Asian Television Awards are a great opportunity to profile excellence in television from our region,” Chambers said. “Now that Australian and New Zealand television productions can also be considered, the Awards will create useful opportunities for our industry colleagues to network with other program makers, television buyers and agency colleagues.”
