MOSCOW — Russian therapy format “To Understand and Forgive” looks to be heading West after Zodiak Vostok inked a deal with France’s A Prime Group to co-produce two pilot episodes.
More than 200 editions of the show, which is produced by Zodiak Vostok’s subsidiary TeleAlliance, have aired on Russia’s Channel One to ratings success. Each episode of the daily drama revolves around psychotherapists trying to solve real-life issues, ranging from adultery to blackmail.
Patrick Nebout, Zodiak Vostok’s business development exec, said: “We have received great interest from major international producers following the recent launch of the title at Mipcom, and look forward to announcing more deals in the near future.”
Zodiak Vostok is the Russian subsidiary of Scandi-based Zodiak Television.
