HONG KONG — TinselVision, a U.S.-backed video-on-demand service specializing in Bollywood films and Indian TV, launched Thursday.
Company has secured non-exclusive content supply deals with Indian rights owners including Yash Raj Films, STAR TV India and Zee TV. In the dayus before the launch it added further deals with Shemaroo and B4U.
TinselVision, has backing from investors including Washington D.C.-based Tinsel Cinema, headed by Chase Weir, and Innovative Entertainment Ltd.
Target auds are the 40 million Indian and South Asian people living outside India. Content will be delivered via IPTV to PCs, laptops, TVs and mobile devices.
