SEOUL — Gotham-based ImaginAsian Entertainment has pacted with the CJ Group’s M-Net Media affiliate and with Sidus Corp. to distribute Korean content in the U.S.
Move follows last week’s announcement that Sidus would buy a stake in ImaginAsian for $20 million (Daily Variety, Aug 21).
M-Net content, including music, drama, musicvideos and variety shows, will be handled by Sidus and distributed in the U.S. through ImaginAsian’s various outlets. These include Asian-American net IATV, the ImaginAsian Theater, ImaginAsian Pictures, ImaginAsian Home Entertainment, ImaginAsian Radio and e-zine iaLink.
Shows include “Thrilling Blind Date,” “Jaeyong’s Chaste 19” and “M Countdown.”
Sidus includes film production shingles Sidus FNH and Uno Film, content marketing and distribution Dispert Entertainment and game publishing unit Megaweb.
“This deal will launch some of the most diverse and high-quality content from Asia into the North American market,” said ImaginAsian Entertainment chairman-CEO Augustine SC Hong.
