At the preem of “The 11th Hour” at the ArcLight on Wednesday, there was no doubt the environmental pic had an activist point of view, but Warner Independent topper Polly Cohen said it was all done with balance.
“We worked so hard to make it nonpartisan,” Cohen said. “No Republicans were hurt in the making of this film.”
On the other hand, co-director/producer Nadia Conners added: “But there’s a couple I’d like to strangle for denying reality.”
Before the screening, producer-narrator Leonardo DiCaprio said the pic offered scientists and activists “a pulpit in which they could talk freely.” And co-director/producer Leila Conners Petersen said the key was getting “the exact razor’s edge between horror and hope because that’s the truth of the situation.”
After-party was at the Cabana Club, where the guest list included Kate Bosworth, Ron Burkle, Donald De Line, Julie Delpy, Val Kilmer, Linda Lichter, Tobey Maguire and Ridley Scott.
