Paramount Pictures Australia opens for business
SYDNEY — Paramount Pictures Australia was clearly in a musical mood for its grand opening, with a dance troupe interpreting “Moon River,” “Flashdance” and even the “Bohemian Rhapsody” moment from “Wayne’s World.”
Well-attended Feb. 21 party at Jones Bay Wharf marked the bow of the studio’s Oz headquarters.
International distribution veep Roger Pollock and Par Oz topper Mike Selwyn did a double act, each with a speech that was short and sweet. And local bizzers were buzzing on news of the studio’s aggressive new acquisition and production investment drive.
