'No Reservations' premieres in Gotham
“As my husband says, if I can’t cook after doing this movie, there is no hope,” joked “No Reservations” star Catherine Zeta-Jones at the pic’s premiere party at Gotham’s Bar Americain on Wednesday night.
Thesp plays an uber-chef in the movie, a remake of the 2001 German feature “Mostly Martha.”
“I tried to put (the original) in the back of my mind,” helmer Scott Hicks explained. “I loved the story and the characters, but I felt like I could retell and reinvent it in my own way with this whole different setting in New York.” Co-star Aaron Eckhart said the chance to play an upbeat guy, instead of his usual darker characters, definitely whetted his appetite.
“I have never done a role like this before,” he said. “Being a really breezy, nice guy really appealed to me, so I thought I would give it a shot.”
