Hard knock life

'Knocked Up' opens Down Under

SYDNEY — Judd Apatow hadn’t reckoned on ferocious Sydney rain- and windstorms during his visit to promote “Knocked Up.”

“It’s been a nightmare,” the helmer confessed at the pic’s June 19 Oz preem at Fox Studios, “because I’d only packed a Speedo.”

Apatow, along with the pic’s stars Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, officiated at the event, which also heralded Universal Pictures’ debut in the Oz theatrical market.

The after party (a rarity Down Under these days) held at the nearby Comedy Store was a dud, with guests barely able to settle in before being corralled into watching short films for a radio station competition.

Lucky for U, “Knocked Up” went down well.
