Word World — the multi-platform media franchise behind the new preschool literacy show “WordWorld” on PBS Kids — has hired four executives: Greg Slowik as chief financial officer; Arielle Basch as marketing director; Esther Ready as director of affiliate and strategic partnerships; and George Abdy as associate art director.

Universal Motown Republic Group, a division of Universal Music Group, has upped Pat Monaco to executive VP of sales and field marketing.
