Audrey Lee has been named senior veep of the distribution legal affairs group at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Lee will oversee legal affairs for distribution of content for the domestic pay TV, non-European international TV, digital/online/mobile and homevid businesses and for worldwide digital cinema.
Lee joined Sony Pictures in 2001 as senior counsel and became assistant general counsel in 2004. She has worked on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures for the studio’s operational divisions and helped negotiate and draft homevideo distribution deals and d-cinema agreements worldwide. She represented Sony Pictures in the formation of Digital Cinema Initiatives, a multistudio joint venture that developed voluntary technical standards for d-cinema, and worked on the studio’s first digital cinema agreements with exhibitors and others worldwide. Lee also has been involved in negotiating Blu-ray disc agreements with retailers.
“As Sony Pictures expands its presence in the digital marketplace, we need people like Audrey helping to lead the way,” said Corii Berg, deputy general counsel and exec veep for legal affairs.
Lee worked at Internet incubator idealab before Sony Pictures.
