Drama pilot order — “Pushing Daisies,” a high-concept romantic drama about a man who can bring dead people back to life just by touching them. Bryan Fuller wrote the project, which is exec produced by Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen. Warner Bros. TV is behind the project.
Drama pilot order — “Marlowe,” a contemporary take on Raymond Chandler’s hard-boiled private eye Philip Marlowe. Greg Pruss and Carol Wolper are writing and exec producing the piece, along with Sean Bailey (through his LivePlanet banner), Dan Blatt and Daniel Pipski. Touchstone TV is producing.
Comedy pilot order — “Zip,” a single-camera half-hour about a grifter who tries to live the good life with his kids in Beverly Hills. Mark Rizzo created the laffer and will serve as a supervising producer. NBC Universal TV and Reveille will produce; Reveille’s Ben Silverman is an exec producer, along with Teri Weinberg, Marc Abrams and Michael Benson.
Pilot casting — Zeljko Ivanek (“Black Hawk Down”) has joined the cast of FX’s upcoming Kessler/Zelman/Kessler project, starring opposite Glenn Close as lawyer Ray Fiske. Ivanek’s other credits include features “Hoax” and “The Manchurian Candidate.” He’s also a three-time Tony nominee. Sony Pictures TV is behind the show.
