If called upon in a pinch, could you perform as a real ER nurse or doctor?
“Absolutely not. No way. I wouldn’t even attempt to try.”
Do people in the street often ask for your medical opinion?
“Sometimes to my friends, I offer advice and ask questions like I’m a doctor, which annoys them.”
Why has “ER” endured for 14 seasons?
“John Wells. It starts from there. He’s very smart about whom he hires and continually hires smart writers to replace others who have moved on. He’s also smart about the actors he chooses as the years go on.”
Best part of the job?
“Being with the cast and crew. They still write great stuff for me. It’s my ninth season, and there’s still challenging stuff for me to do. It’s a really nice gig.”
