Lorraine Bracco joins ‘Long Island’

Actress books role in Lifetime drama pilot

Lorraine Bracco is staying in the tristate area for her next TV gig, booking a starring role in the Lifetime drama pilot “Long Island Confidential.”

Thesp, in her first series role since “The Sopranos” wrapped production earlier this year, will play Nora, the mom of series lead Alison Elliott. Elliott plays a female detective juggling family and career.

Also cast: Jeffrey Pierce, who will play Mike Jr.

Bender-Brown Prods. is producing “Long Island Confidential” in association with ABC Studios. Jan Oxenberg wrote the pilot and will exec produce alongside Kevin Brown and Lawrence Bender. Guy Bee is directing.

Bracco played Dr. Melfi on “The Sopranos” from 1999 until the show signed off last spring.
