Lifetime has commissioned “State of Mind,” a new comedy/drama series starring Lily Taylor as a therapist beset by more problems than many of her patients.
Greer Shepherd and Michael Robin (“Nip/Tuck,” “The Closer”) are the executive producers for Warner Horizon TV. Robin will direct the pilot written by the psychotherapist/author Amy Bloom.
“State of Mind” is the second hourlong scripted series Lifetime has greenlit for 2007, joining the previously announced “Army Wives.”
Lifetime has no scripted series on its schedule, filling its primetime with movies and reruns of the “Reba” sitcom.
Susanne Daniels, president of entertainment services for Lifetime, is pushing hard to re-seed the schedule with scripted originals, harking back to the years when shows like “Strong Medicine” and “The Division” helped to make Lifetime the No. 1-rated network among all ad-supported cable channels.
The supporting cast of “State of Mind” includes Lolita Davidovich, Derek Riddell, Levin Chamberlin, Devon Gummersall and Mido Hamada .
