Emmy-nommed costume designer Jerry Skeels died July 24 in Lake Arrowhead, Calif. He was 68.
Skeels and partner Randy McLaughlin created hand-beaded gowns and original costumes for TV shows such as “The Young and the Restless” and films. Skeels received Emmy noms for costume design for “One West Waikiki” with Cheryl Ladd and for “P.S.I. Luv U” with Connie Sellecca.
They also created the beaded Hollywood Graffiti gown, used as a fund-raising tool against HIV/AIDS.
Skeels was also a dancer, appearing in more than 50 musicals.
Skeels and McLaughlin’s musical theater project, “Lost Spirit,” will premiere Oct. 5 in Upland, Calif.
He is survived by McLaughlin, his partner of 29 years, and a sister.
