Higgins new exec VP at RDF USA

Executive departs Endemol USA post

Endemol USA production senior veep Lisa Higgins is heading to production shingle RDF USA.

Higgins, who also specialized in merchandising and product integration, will serve as exec veep at RDF USA. She will oversee all production activity, licensing, merchandising and product integration for the net’s many shows currently in production, said RDF USA chief exec Chris Coelen.

At Endemol, Higgins oversaw nonscripted shows such as “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Big Brother” and “Deal or No Deal,” coming up with such initiatives as the suitcase game on the Howie Mandel show.

She also served as a producer on shows such as “Spy TV” and “Rescue 911.”

Hiring continues a rapid hiring pace at RDF USA, where Coelen has made a number of key hires since joining 18 months ago, including former ABC exec Greg Goldman, former MTV exec Beth Greenwald and Granada vet Charles Tremayne.

Coelen said in an interview that the company is looking to make between one and two acquisitions this year as well as invest in startup companies, particularly in business that complement RDF USA’s existing operations.

RDF USA has a number of shows in production, including “Queen Elizabeth: The Real Monarchy at Work,” “Wife Swap” and “Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Fat Challenge.”

U.S. company, part of the publicly traded British outfit RDF Media Group, announced that gross profit was up 32% and revenue up 36% to £15.6 million ($31 million).
