Guthrie to leave STAR TV

News Corp. unit calls on Aiello from March.

Michelle Guthrie announced Friday that she’s ankling as CEO of News Corp.’s Asian satcaster Star TV effective March 1. She will be replaced by Paul Aiello, currently Star prexy.

Aiello, who has been with Star since June, was in charge of overseeing corporate functions and developing the company’s strategies and direction.

Before joining Star, Aiello was with Morgan Stanley, where he headed its telecom, media and technology group in the Asia-Pacific region and counted Star a client.

“Michelle has overseen an important stage of growth at Star, as it fortified its position as Asia’s leading media company,” said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman-CEO.
