Sales veteran Rossi will head new division

Fox Entertainment is creating a division called Fox One to sell advertising and sponsorships across all News Corp. media properties.The group, headed by Fox sales veteran Jean Rossi, will represent all U.S.-based News Corp. assets from “American Idol” to the New York Post.

The creation of Fox One formalizes some of the sales activities that had already been going on at the conglom, as it seeks to fill the needs of advertisers across multiple media outlets.

Rossi, who will serve as prexy of the unit, retains her title as exec VP of sales for Fox, under director Jon Nesvig. Fox sales execs Annie Hekker and Jessica Siff were named veeps of the unit, while Claudine Lilien joins the unit as senior VP of sales for the CW.

Rossi said she’ll be able to sell the gamut from TV Guide to MyNetwork TV to MySpace to create campaigns “across a wide range of platforms, including broadcast, film, cable, online, telephony, print and emerging technologies.”

Rossi is known for helping create, along with FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the sponsorship deals for “American Idol” with Coca-Cola, Cingular (now AT&T) and Ford.
