Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment has hired Rebecca Rising for the newly created post of head of business and legal affairs.
Rising will work alongside Electric partner Kearie Peak in building the company. She’ll oversee the production, distribution and finance agreements for the company’s slate of film and television projects.
“Rebecca is the first person to have this role at our company, and it is indicative of the growth we are experiencing,” Devlin said.
Rising was VP of business and legal affairs at cineFinance Insurance Services, where she was responsible for overseeing the film completion bond company’s transactions. Prior to that, she was inhouse counsel for Roll Intl. Corp. and an associate at the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where she specialized in film finance.
Electric is in pre-production on the sci-fi thriller “Isobar.”
