CableU, an online service that analyzes cable channel performance and programming trends, signed its first batch of charter subscribers at the recent NATPE convention in Las Vegas.
Launch members include ABC, A&E, BET, Comcast, Discovery and Voom.
Several foreign companies also inked for the service, including Britain’s Channel 5 and Germany’s ProSiebenSat 1.
“Our subscriber total, which is well ahead of projections, is a testament to the huge response we received at NATPE. We expect even more enthusiasm from the nonfiction production and broadcast community coming together for another convention next week,” said Lou Occhicone, newly appointed CableU managing partner.
CableU provides up-to-the-minute proprietary research on 25 U.S. cable networks.
Launched in December, CableU is a partnership between Gary Lico’s Connecticut-based distribution company Cableready and TV publisher Cynopsis.
